Governor Eric Greitens has appointed John R. Lasater, of Kirkwood, as Associate Circuit Court Judge for the 21st Judicial Circuit, which covers St. Louis County.
John (“J.B.”) Lasater has been an assistant prosecuting attorney for the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office for 23 years where he has tried more than 60 jury trials to conclusion. He is also a provisional municipal judge for the City of Kirkwood. Lasater previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Carl R. Gaertner of the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District.
Lasater received his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis and his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin. He is a member of the Board of Governors for the Missouri Bar and a past president of the Lawyers Association of St. Louis and the St. Louis County Bar.
“For over two decades, J.B. Lasater has worked to make St. Louis County safer as a prosecutor,” said Governor Greitens. “I am confident that his history of public service and commitment to justice will serve St. Louis County well in his new role as judge.”
